Mrs. Violet E. Olds, 71, of Hillsboro, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 1979, at the Ben Hur Home in Crawfordsville.
She had been a partner with her daughter, Betty, in the Village Restaurant at Veedersburg until 1971.
She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church at Veedersburg.
She was a graduate of Bridgeton High School.
Born Jan. 30, 1908, in Parke County, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Irwin. She was married to John Olds, who died Dec. 5, 1955.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Betty) Donovan of Hillsboro, Mrs. Harlan (Mary) Purple of Covington, Mrs. Ruth O’Neal of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Carl (Leah Mae) Minnick of Veedersburg; two sons, gene of Roswell, N. M. and John R. of Portland, Ore.; a brother, Ransom Irwin of Chicago; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. – thanks to S
